If you want to test moving in with someone or temporarily live in another place? Then it may be appropriate to rent out your apartment in the alternative. Here we have gathered what you need to know about second-hand rental.
According to the tenancy law, you can rent your apartment in the alternative only with the landlord's permission. Such permission is granted only for special cases. For example, you may want to stay temporarily in another place because of studies or jobs. In this case, you should be able to prove this with a suitable certificate. That you want to try living together is also a valid reason to rent your apartment in the other.
Upon completion, you will be allowed to rent your apartment for six months. You remain liable to pay and is responsible for the apartment.
Second-hand rental without permission
Second-hand rental without permission is a violation of the rental law. If we find that you are renting out your apartment without our approval, we can terminate the rental agreement. Then both you and the second-tenant will have to leave the apartment.
Second-hand rental as a student
If you are a student and want to rent out your apartment in second hand, this should be done to someone who is a student at Linnaeus University or an equivalent institution. You should always be able to present an admission message and registration certificate. If you live in a student apartment, you can only rent your apartment in the second place if you are going to study in another place or have a study break but are guaranteed a place when you return. You can also try a cohabitation. Here, too, we approve a six-month rental.
