You must have lived in your current apartment for at least one year in order to
apply for an apartment exchange (direct swap).

The application, together with documentation supporting your reason for the exchange,
must be submitted at least two calendar months before the desired exchange date.
Please note: The exchange cannot be completed until the new lease agreements have been signed.
Incomplete applications will not be processed.
Applies only if you are exchanging to student housing.
Attach a certificate of admission or enrollment from Umeå University or SLU.

An apartment exchange requires the consent of the landlord. The conditions for approval are stated in
Chapter 12, Section 35 of the Swedish Land Code (Jordabalken).
Consent will only be granted if:
