Scrive and Qliro enables biometric customer checkout in Norway

Since we recently released the support for BankID Biometrics in Norway, we’re now proud to announce that Qliro is our first partner to use BankID Biometrics for identification. Qliro is a provider of flexible payment solutions and digital financial services in the Nordics. The aim of the partnership is to provide Norwegian customers with an even faster, safer and simpler way of paying for goods and services, both online and in-store, via NO BankID, an electronic identification service issued and recognised by all banks in Norway.

Qliro was founded in 2014 with the aim of making online payments easier and more flexible. Today, the Qliro digital payment platform is used by a wide range of online and offline retailers to simplify and streamline their checkout and invoicing processes and offer their customers the best possible shopping experience. Customers can use the Qliro app to pay via Qliro.com or directly via an internet bank, with invoices and other important payment information sent directly to the customer’s email address.

“With this partnership, we can provide Norwegian users of Qliro’s checkout and payment services with an easier, cost effective, more convenient and, most of all, very fast way of identifying themselves when shopping online and offline, using only the BankID app. The BankID Biometrics solution reduces the average time it takes to identify a customer from 20 seconds to only six seconds, in 95 percent of all cases”, says Scrive CEO Viktor Wrede, “We have already begun partnering with Qliro in other markets in the Nordics with similar projects and are looking forward to expanding this highly promising concept even further.”

Qliro has been using Scrive’s authentication and signing solutions since March 2023, but can now offer its Norwegian users to biometrically confirm their identities via NO BankID and sign agreements online. At the same time, Qliro and Scrive have also partnered via SE BankID in Sweden, MitID in Denmark as well as FTN in Finland as part of similar projects.

Scrive’s platform provides a highly secure and convenient way to sign legally binding agreements, which is greatly enhanced through identifying the signatory using BankID. Scrive also uses distributed ledger technology (blockchain) to protect every signed document against tampering and forgery, a future proof method that can be verified independently of Scrive and any third parties.
