Scrive certified as broker of Danish MitID
Stockholm, 24 March 2021
Scrive has been certified as a broker of MitID, the new Danish digital identity means (eID), which will replace NemID this year.
As a certified MitID broker, Scrive will begin offering MitID as an integrated service within its eSign electronic signature platform as well as through the Scrive eID Hub authentication platform.
To provide additional security when signing documents electronically, signatories can identify themselves in a digital environment using an eID. The Scrive eSign service supports several eIDs, allowing users to identify document signatories as a seamless step within the signing process. Currently, signatories in Denmark can authenticate themselves using NemID, which will soon be replaced in the Scrive service by MitID.
Businesses also rely on eID services to securely identify their users and customers for onboarding, secure sign-in, KYC checks and other ID verification processes. The Scrive eID Hub is an API providing access to Scrive’s entire suite of eID offerings so that customers can implement stand-alone authentication processes into their own systems and services.
“As a leading provider of onboarding and agreement signing solutions, Scrive is making MitID available to our customers as soon as the service becomes available”, says René Kappelgård, Scrive Denmark Country Manager. “Our goal is to make our customers’ transition from NemID to MitID as smooth as possible.”
The MitID service will go live throughout Denmark in May 2021, and NemID will continue to operate until the end of the year. Businesses and public services who currently offer NemID to identify their customers and users will need to contract with a certified MitID broker and implement MitID into their own offerings and services.
