Freja eID
Sweden’s Freja eID is the first mobile eID to receive the Swedish e-identification quality mark by the Swedish government’s agency for Digital Government DIGG.
Your digital ID card
Freja eID is a mobile app that enables you to verify your identity, sign documents electronically and show your Covid Certificate to prove you had a Covid-19 vaccine. As you can also use Freja eID to login to websites, it effectively serves as a password manager, mitigating security risks. Currently, over 300 online services accept Freja eID as proof of identity. In addition, PostNord, ATG, Kronans Apotek and Apoteksgruppen accept Freja eID in store. Freja eID is also accepted in Denmark, Norway, Finland and the UK.
How to use Freja eID
You don’t need a bank account to use Freja eID. You can register online by downloading the app and submitting an approved form of identity. However, if you want to get Freja eID Plus, which gives you access to government e-services, you need to validate your identity in person at one of Freja eID’s 2000 agents around Sweden. To use your Freja eID, simply tap the card in the app on your mobile and unlock it with biometrics or PIN to then show the screen to identify yourself. In some cases, staff might ask you to scan the QR code generated by Freja eID. This QR code expires every two minutes and needs to be refreshed.
Freja eID offered through Scrive
Scrive offers Freja eID in two ways: as an API to integrate it into your own services, and as an integrated feature in the Scrive e-signing service.
eID Hub
eID Hub is Scrive’s API for enabling businesses to integrate Freja eID and other eIDs into their systems, making it a single point of access that simplifies your digital identity journey for all your markets. When you sign a contract with Scrive, you get access to all the eIDs Scrive supports. This means you don’t have to make a separate agreement with the supplier of each eID you want to integrate.
Scrive can guide you through your integration. Scrive provides eID coverage across the Nordics and continues to expand into Europe, adding new eID solutions to our offering as they reach maturity in each country.
eSign
eSign is Scrive’s electronic signature service, enabling businesses to implement paperless, automated document signing processes. Freja eID, along with all the eIDs Scrive supports, are available within the eSign service so that when you send an agreement to be signed, you can protect it by requiring the other party to authenticate their identity to access the document, sign it or both.
